NDA to form govt in Maharashtra, close contest in Jharkhand: Exit polls

New Delhi: Almost all exit polls have predicted NDA forming the government in Maharashtra for the second consecutive term, while a close contest is predicted in Jharkhand.

For Maharashtra, Matrize exit poll has placed the NDA comfortably in the drivers seat by giving 150-170 seats while the others are getting eight to 10 seats. Chanakya Strategies has given 152-160 seats, INDIA bloc 130-138 and others six to eight seats.

The People’s Pulse has given the NDA 175-195 seats, MVA 85-112 and others seven to 12 seats; P-Marq has given the NDA 137-157 seats, MVA may get 126-146 and others may get two to eight seats while Poll Diary has given 122-186 seats to NDA, 69-121 to MVA and 12-29 to others.

For Jharkhand, its a close contest as per the exit polls. C-Voter has given 34 seats to NDA, 26 seats to INDIA bloc and one seat to others. Meanwhile, P-Marq has given 31-40 seats to NDA, INDIA Bloc likely to get 37-47 seats and others may get one to six seats.

Exit poll by Matrize has given 42-47 seats to NDA, 25-30 seats to INDIA Bloc and one to two seats to others.

Along with Maharashtra and Jharkhand, bye-election was held in nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. Matrize has given seven seats to NDA and two seats to Samajwadi Party.

While elections were conducted in two phases in Jharkhand on November 13 and 20, Maharshtra went to polls in a single phase on November 20. Counting of votes will be held on November 23.
