DDC Shopian acts tough against corrupt practices of RDD staff

SHOPIAN: In a determined effort towards showing zero tolerance against corruption, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today issued directions for disengagement of services, registration of FIRs and conducting and Departmental disciplinary action against two Rural development staff members found involved in corrupt practices.

In an order issued here, the DDC has directed the disengagement of GRS, and taking departmental action against Panchayat Secretary, who is already under suspension alongwith registration of FIRs. Both concerned have been found involved in embezzlement and misappropriation of funds and making labour payment for non-executed works under MGNREGA at Zrakan Panchayat of Keller block, as per the order.

The DDC has desired the immediate action against the staff involved in corruption and has shown a strong intent to tackle the corruption by being strict against the mal-practices.

The people of the district have been appealed on different platforms by DDC to report issues of corruption or demands for bribe to the District Development Commissioner himself for strict action. No one shall be spared and given any relief, found involved in corrupt practices, said DC on the occasion.
