DC Shopian meets Telecom operators; discusses coverage of services in shadow areas especially Mughal Road

SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 05: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today chaired a meeting with concerned officers and Telecom operators to discuss the coverage/ extension of telecom services into shadow areas of the district.

The DC stressed upon the operators and officers for coming up with plan of action vis a vis expanding services to underserved areas, particularly along Mughal Road. Operators were also asked to serve Dubjan-Peer Ki Gali axis through CoW Towers.

The extension, he said, aims to boost connectivity in the region, ensuring that residents and travelers have reliable access to telecom services.

The meeting focused on addressing coverage gaps in shadow areas, where existing infrastructure is limited or non-existent.

The DC asked for initiating Infrastructure Development through upgrading existing infrastructure to support expanded services; Network Expansion by establishing new cell towers and Service Quality by enhancing overall service quality to ensure reliable connectivity.

By enhancing telecom services, the district can improve communication, facilitate economic growth, and enhance overall quality of life for its inhabitants.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; ACR, SDM Zainapora, ACP, DFO, DIO, Tehsildar Shopian and other concerned officers and representatives of JIO and BSNL.
