During this important visit, Mr Tara took a comprehensive review of the college’s sports infrastructure and assessed the progress of various ongoing developmental projects. Notably, he inspected the ongoing works on the 400-meter standard athletics track, where he was informed that the project is nearing completion and is expected to be ready within the next 15 days.

Additionally, DG Sports visited the newly initiated construction site of the Hockey Synthetic Track, where work has commenced just a few days prior. He also reviewed the development of a modern football turf, receiving assurances from the Executive Engineer of the construction agency that work on both fields is progressing at full pace.

The Director General took particular interest in the newly completed Badminton Indoor Hall, expressing satisfaction with the facility’s completion. He hoped that this space will provide college students and the youth of the area with ample opportunities to benefit from indoor badminton.

Furthermore, DG YSS toured the boys’ hostel and also reviewed renovation works being carried out on a portion of the College’s main building, which had been affected by a fire incident last year.

Emphasising the importance of timely project completion, DG urged the construction agency to expedite ongoing works, reiterating the necessity of adhering to the stipulated time frame. He also called on the faculty of the college to maintain vigilant oversight of the quality of work and related activities, ensuring that the highest standards are met.

“The development of sports infrastructure is crucial for nurturing our young talent,” said the officer. “We are dedicated to providing the best facilities possible, and I am confident that with collective efforts, we can further elevate the standards of sports in the UT.
