*October 18:* “`As a part of the public outreach program, Police in Pulwama observed ‘Thana Diwas’ at various locations across the district. The event was organized under the guidance of SSP Pulwama, Smt. P. D. Nitya-IPS, with the active participation of local residents, including Lumbardars, Chowkidars, and other community members.

 

At Police Post Newa, SSP Pulwama personally presided over the event at the Public Park Tumchi Nowpora accompanied by DySP Operations Pulwama and DySP Headquarters Pulwama. At Police Station Rajpora, DySP DAR along with SHO PS Rajpora chaired the event at Pachar Mandi Rajpora, At Police Station Kakapora, SDPO Litter attended the program, At Police Station Litter, DySP Hqrs Pulwama presided over the event. At Police Station Pulwama and PP Hawal concerned supervisory officers chaired the events.

 

The focus of Thana Diwas is to create a direct line of communication between the police and the public, fostering transparency, trust, and cooperation. The attendees raised several issues ranging from road safety to the need for enhanced patrolling in certain areas. In response, the police assured the participants of prompt action and urged them to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

 

The program concluded peacefully, with the community members expressing appreciation for the platform provided by the police to raise their concerns. Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the district and encouraged the public to continue their cooperation in maintaining law and order.“`
