*October 18:* “`On the directions of SSP Baramulla Shri Mohammad Zaid Malik-JKPS, Police in Baramulla launched a comprehensive drive to tackle persistent traffic violations, which have resulted in numerous accidents and casualties in recent months. The focus was on triple riding, driving without helmets, rash and negligent driving.

 

Baramulla Police seized 75 two-wheelers involved in triple riding and helmetless riding in the district. 147 violators were booked, and cases were registered under relevant sections of law at concerned police stations. Investigations are underway.

 

The drive aims to curb traffic violations, ensure road safety for law-abiding citizens, and serve as a deterrent to future violators. General public has appreciated efforts of police in keeping a close check on violators, ensuring safe movement on roads and public places. Remember to ride safely, wear helmets, and follow traffic rules. The drive will continue in the district to keep check on traffic violations.“`
