*October 11:* “`Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Sopore have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Watergam headed by IC PP Watergam under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Aabid Rashid Mir-JKPS and SHO PS Dangiwacha during patrolling at Hadipora Laiser Crossing apprehended one person namely Mehraj-ud-Din Mir son of Abdul Khaliq Mir resident of Chijhama Rafiabad. During search, 32 grams of charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha & investigation has been initiated.
