PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 13: In a significant effort to assess the preparedness for the upcoming 2024 Assembly Elections, the Election Observers for Assembly Constituencies 34-Pulwama, Manoj Kumar; 32-Pampore, Vadarevu Vinay Chand; 33-Tral, Brajesh Narain Singh and Police Observer Akhliesh Kumar along with District Election Officer (DEO) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom conducted a comprehensive visit to the Strong Rooms and Counting Halls at Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama.
Accompanied by Nodal Officer for EVMs/ VVPATs, Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers, the team closely inspected the arrangements to ensure smooth and secure operations on counting day
The focus was upon ensuring the secure storage of EVMs and VVPATs from all four constituencies – 32-Pampore, 33-Tral, 34-Pulwama and 35-Rajpora. Observers reviewed the security protocols, including 24/7 surveillance through CCTV cameras and deployment of security personnel from central and state forces.
Proper arrangements were reviewed for all constituencies, with emphasis on adequate lighting, fire safety measures and smooth facilitation of counting processes. The deployment of micro-observers, commission officials and security arrangements such as barricades were discussed to ensure transparency.
The visit aimed to reinforce the election machinery’s preparedness, ensuring that all security and logistical measures are in place to facilitate a free, fair and transparent election process. The DEO and Observers expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, directing officials to ensure strict adherence to election protocols.
