SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 04: In order to create awareness among public regarding the importance of exercising their franchise, mega SVEEP activities were organised today by District Nodal Officer SVEEP/ Media at Imamsahib and Zainapora areas of Zainapora AC.
The events witnessed huge participation of the general public, students, teachers, shopkeepers and street vendors.
At Imamsahib, the programme started with a rally led by Tehsildar Imamsahib and District Nodal Officer Shopian from GHSS, Imamsahib and concluded with a Nukad Natak by Wathori cultural group.
At Zainapora, a cycle rally was led by District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, which started from GHSS Zainapora and culminated at Wachi. The participants were carrying posters, asking voters for enthusiastic participation in upcoming elections, on 18th September.
The objective of these SVEEP activities was stressing the power of vote and the role of youth in shaping the nation’s future. Students of various institutions actively participated in the Cycle Rally by displaying slogans like, ‘Vote for a better Future’, ‘Your Vote, Your Power’ and others, effectively engaging with the voters about the significance of their participation in the electoral process.
The Headmasters and Principals of the participating schools delivered inspiring speeches, emphasizing the critical role that young people can play in fostering a vibrant democracy and urged the students to take the message of electoral participation to every household, thereby contributing to the success of the democratic process.
