GANDERBAL, AUGUST 29: In a spirited effort to boost voter awareness and participation ahead of the Assembly Elections 2024, a unique ‘Umbrella Rally’ was organized today at Kangan under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.

The rally, a collaborative effort of the Deputy District Election Officer Ganderbal, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kangan, and the District Nodal Officer SVEEP, saw active participation from girl students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Kangan.

The event commenced from the premises of GHSS Kangan and concluded at the SDM Office, Kangan.

The ‘Umbrella Rally’ aimed to emphasize the critical importance of voter participation, especially among the youth.

With colorful umbrellas in hand, the participating students symbolized the protection of democratic values through active involvement in the electoral process.
The event was designed to engage young voters and encourage them to exercise their democratic right in the upcoming elections.

The ‘Umbrella Rally’ is one of several initiatives planned under the SVEEP program in Ganderbal to enhance voter education and ensure an informed, motivated, and enthusiastic electorate.

The district election authority reiterated its focus on conducting free, fair, and transparent elections with maximum public participation.
