BARAMULLA, AUGUST 27: In view of the upcoming Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir, a comprehensive hands-on training sessions on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) was conducted for the polling staff in all the Seven (07) Assembly Constituencies of district Baramulla.
The training conducted under the guidance and supervision of District Election Officer, Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, aimed to equip the participants with hands-on experience of utilizing EVMs and VVPATs effectively during the elections.
Led by the District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs), the training focused on detailed working on EVMs, and VVPATs, imparting detailed operational knowledge to the polling staff with an aim to enhance competence and confidence in utilizing these essential electoral tools.
The session also discussed in detail the administrative procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) laid down by the Election Commission of India (ECI) with regard to the operation of EVM-VVPAT and its administrative procedures.
The training program was well-received by the polling staff, who expressed their appreciation for the thorough and detailed approach taken by the trainers, highlighting the importance of such training sessions in building their confidence and ensuring that they are well-prepared to handle any challenges that may arise on Election Day.
