SRINAGAR, JUNE: Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce, Vikram Jeet Singh, today inaugurated a unique craft exhibition, titled ‘Raising the Bar’, at Government Arts Emporium.
The exhibition, organised in association with the Department of Handicrafts and Handloom Kashmir, was aimed to showcase the skills of our young generation in art and craft. This event is being hosted by Kashmir Gen Z, a company that focuses on bringing out the best in art and craft within Kashmir.
The exhibition is showcasing a unique collection of innovative products including lampshades, products made from Real Kashmiri Walnut and Deodar Wood, Willow Wicker and Papermache. There has also been an effort to make the products environmentally friendly.
According to an official statement, the departmental initiative “Know Your Artisan” has provided numerous artisans with a platform to cultivate essential skills in branding, networking and raising public awareness. These exhibitions are crucial for fostering cultural exchange, encouraging dialogue and nurturing an investor appreciation for art. They present a unique opportunity to engage with creativity and explore innovative perspectives.
