CARE Foundation Participates in International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with Youth Rally at Dal Lake

**Srinagar, June 26, 2024:** On the eve of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the CARE Foundation participated in a significant event involving hundreds of youth walking together on the banks of Dal Lake. The participants raised slogans advocating for the eradication of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, demonstrating their commitment to combating this pervasive menace.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of community involvement in tackling this issue. The rally was a vibrant display of unity and determination, with young voices calling for a drug-free society.

Dr. Mehjabeen Nabi, President of CARE Foundation stated that, “Today, we stand together to confront one of the most pressing issues of our time—drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Our youth are our future, and their involvement in this cause is crucial. We must continue to educate, support, and empower them to lead the fight against this menace.”

Dr Mehjabeen Nabi also expressed her heartfelt appreciation towards Mr Shabir Ahmed Shah of Mehboob ul Alam Sports for organising the event and bringing together many organisations together for this eminent cause.

Adv. Nabeena N. Alikadli, General Secretary of CARE Foundation also expressed her views and said that, “This rally is a testament to the collective will of our community to eliminate drug abuse. The energy and enthusiasm of these young participants give us hope for a brighter, healthier future. The CARE Foundation remains dedicated to providing the resources and support needed to address and prevent drug abuse.”

The CARE Foundation will continue its efforts to combat drug abuse through ongoing educational programs, community outreach, and support services. This event marks another step forward in the fight for a drug-free society.
