Drug Control Department conducts inspection of medicine sale establishments at Kulgam

KULGAM, MAY 04: Intensive drive to achieve 100% CCTV surveillance and computerized billing system of medicine sale outlets is going on in compliance with the Government directive in the district Kulgam with the main aim and objective to stop unscrupulous sale of scheduled formulations.

Today, 17 inspections of the retail and wholesale establishments were conducted in various areas including Shurat Tuli Nowpora, Srandoo Mirhama, Pombay, Gopalpora and Nihama of Kulgam.

All the inspected firms were found to have installed high resolution CCTV Cameras.

Four firms were made to install Computerised billing system on the spot and one firm was closed down for non installation of CBS for maintenance of records.

Chemists in the far flung areas were given awareness regarding installation of CBS and its benefits for inventory management.

The inspection drive has been aggressively pursued to achieve a robust system for observing the conditions of licences and governing provisions of Drugs and cosmetic Act.
