Karnah Kupwara:In a tragic incident, the residence of Abdul Raouf, son of Late Mohd Ismail Rais, located in Khawarpara, Karnah, Kupwara, was gutted by a massive fire. The fire, which broke out unexpectedly, resulted in the loss of lakhs worth of properties, including household items and personal belongings.

Reports indicate that the fire service was promptly alerted; however, due to the distance of the fire station from the location, approximately 5 kilometers away, the fire brigade arrived after the house was already engulfed in flames. This delay in response time significantly contributed to the extensive damage incurred.

Had the fire service reached the scene on time, the chances of preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring houses and causing further destruction would have been higher. The timely intervention could have potentially saved other properties from being consumed by the inferno.

An FIR (First Information Report) has been registered at the Police Station Tangdar, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire and ascertain any possible negligence or foul play.

This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of efficient emergency response mechanisms and the need for adequate infrastructure, such as fire stations, in remote areas to mitigate such disasters and prevent loss of life and property.
