April 04:“`Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Handwara headed by SHO PS Handwara at a checkpoint established at Chotipora intercepted two suspicious persons. During search, 23 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Suhail Ahmad Shagoo son of Habibullah Shagoo resident of Phorupeth and Javid Ahmad Sheikh son of Ab Ahad Sheikh resident of Hanga. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigation have been initiated.
