GDC Reasi hosts awareness programme on organ donation

REASI, NOVEMBER 18: Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree college Reasi, in collaboration with SOTO (State organ and tissue transplant Organization), organised an awareness programme on organ donation.

Dr. Probhjot Kour Head, Dept of Psychology welcomed the guests. Mrs. Anshu Sharma consultant (IEC /Media) from Govt. Medical College Jammu graced the occasion.

A video regarding organ donation was presented to the students. Dr. Anshu Sharma talked about the present scenario of organ donation in India. She highlighted the various aspects of organ donation which is a significant service to society and mankind in addition to fulfilling the requirements of the country . It is a unique opportunity for the donors to donate their organs to save a life. Speaking on the occasion, Principal GDC Reasi, Dr. Kulvinder Kaur motivated the students to be part of this noble cause of organ donation as it is deeply ingrained in our culture and tradition.

The programme was organized by Dr. Probhjot Kour, Head, Department of Psychology, Prof Sunil Mangotra (NCC ANO), Prof. Ajay Kumar (NSS Programme Officer).

Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Palvinder Kumari (Dept of English).

Around 100 Students including NCC and NSS volunteers attended the programme and registered themselves to pledge for organ donation.

Dr. Narendra Sharma, Prof. Upasna, Prof. Sunil Magotra, Prof. Palvinder Kumari, Dr. Sanjeet and Ms. Arti Devi were present in the event.
