Rehana Batul visits Sallan panchayat; Chairs Mahila Sabha, distributes financial assistance, golden cards

KATHUA, NOVEMBER 14: Secretary, Labour and Employment Department Rehna Batul, today visited Sallan panchayat of block Dinga Amb in connection with fifth phase of “Back to Village” Programme (B2V5), Government’s flagship public outreach, participation and feedback programme.

A multitude of activities were carried out in the Panchayat wherein Visiting Officer held interaction with PRIs representatives, frontline government functionaries and prominent citizens, besides visiting development work sites and reviewing activities of Village level institutions.

The Visiting Officer had detailed discussion with people on core issues being faced by the locals and deliberated on ways and means to resolve them.

On the occasion, the Prabhari Officer also inspected stalls of different departments where frontline officials of various departments sensitized the locals about individual beneficiary based schemes and asked them to register for saturation of KCC, ABHA cards, Golden Cards etc.

Recalling the objective of flagship outreach programme ‘Back To Village’, the Prabhari Officer said that reaching out to the rural populace at their doorsteps, besides facilitating community participation in the development process has given a vital fillip to the rural landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Prabhari Officer distributed financial assistance cheques worth Rs 7.55 lakh among the beneficiaries of different schemes of Jammu & Kashmir Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB). She said financial assistance will provide relief to individuals dealing with various hardships, ensuring that they can access the necessary resources. She also handed over certificates to the beneficiaries undergoing skill development courses sponsored by District Employment and Counselling Centre Kathua.

She also distributed RDD job cards and Ayushsman Golden cards among the beneficiaries.

Rehana Batul also visited the Bamboo centre, Sallan, established by Handicraft and Handloom department where she inspected bamboo artifacts and took appraisal of the facilities being given to the local artisans under different schemes.

During the programme, the Visiting Officer also presided over a Mahila Sabha and informed the people about the centrally sponsored and UT-run schemes.

The Prabhari Officer also interacted with the public and reviewed previous and current year deliverables with special focus on improving e-services penetration and user experience for greater accessibility.

She also inspected various government offices and establishments and assessed availability of facilities and functioning of these institutions.

The Prabhari Officer also reviewed implementation status of schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission, MGNREGA, PMAY-G, APY, Pension schemes, rejuvenation and restoration of water bodies. She emphasised upon the saturation of KCC, ABHA cards, golden cards, land passbooks etc.

Meanwhile, awareness sessions on various self employment and other welfare schemes was also held during the first day proceedings.
