SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 31: The District Treasury Office (DTO) Shopian today organized an Orientation/ Training programme under the banner of Vigilance Awareness Week at IMGDC Shopian.

The event aimed to create awareness about the importance of transparency, integrity, and accountability in public administration.

Speaking on the occasion, District Treasury Officer (DTO) Mohammad Ayub stressed for maintaining transparency, fairness, honesty and integrity at all levels to keep a corruption-free environment in the offices.

He invited eminent speakers and experts to deliver lectures on the significance of the role of each individual in promoting a corruption-free society.

The speakers highlighted the detrimental effects of corruption on economic growth, social justice, and the overall well-being of the community.

A special focus was given for educating the youth about the negative consequences of corruption and the importance of upholding ethical values.

An integrity pledge was also administered to all dealing assistants of departments.

Among others, the programme was attended by Chief Accounts Officer, Shopian; Accounts Officer, Audit and Inspection Department Srinagar, AAO Srinagar besides dealing assistants from various Government departments.

During the week-long event, various activities and programmes are being organized in the district to promote ethical practices and vigilant behaviour among Government officials and the general public.

These activities included workshops, seminars, debates, and poster competitions on topics related to anti-corruption and good governance.
