KUPWARA, OCTOBER 25: Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kupwara today organized a function to distribute Self Defense Kits among the girl students. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan was chief guest on the occasion.
Principal GHSS Kupwara, Bashir Ahmad Shah; Lt. Col. Sanjay Pawar along with trainers from Skill Development Council, besides, school faculty and large number of students were present on the occasion.
Addressing the function, the Deputy Commissioner said that self defense training should be provided to every girl student as it will instill self confidence in them. She appreciated the students for showing their vibrant participation in recent Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign. She asked them to work hard in their studies as well in addition to performing of co-curricular activities.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner distributed self defense kits among several girl students.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that around 400 girl students of GHSS have undergone a week long self defense training from trainers which was conducted by Sports & Physical Education Council, Ministry of Skill Development Department and was sponsored by Indian Railways under CSR.
