National School of Drama, Theatre in Education Centre, days long Technical Theatre Workshop concludes in Srinagar
SRINAGAR Oct.13, 2023 A one month long technical Theatre Workshop for honing theatre light designing, setdesigning, sound techniques and other crafts of theatre concluded here on Tuesday. The workshop was organized by National School of Drama TIE. Centre, Srinagar in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages. Diverse range of topics dwelling on various aspects of theatre crafts were covered during the workshop by eminent theatre experts Shri. Firos Khan, Shri.Shiva Prasad, Shri Sushil Kant Mishra, Shri Muzammil Hayat Bhawani,Ms. Sneeha,Ms. Swarnalata Bahara. The workshop was monitored by NSD’s centre in-charge Shri Aruna Kumar Malik ,the Director of the Workshop , a renowned theatre expert and national awardee Shri. Suresh Bhardwaj and coordinated by NSD’s Srinagar Coordinator Shri Gulzar Ganaie. This workshop was an outcome of interaction of theatre practitioners of Kashmir with the NSD’s Registrar Shri Pradeep Kumar Mohanty and society member NSD. Vani Tripathi Tickoo during their official visit to Kashmir on 14th July 2023. On the concluding session Registrar, National School of Drama Shri Pradeep Kumar Mohanty was the chief guest and Mufti Shafeeq-Ur-Rehman was represented by J&K Academy of Art,Culture & Languages, other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were NSD. Centre In-Charge Shri Aruna Kumar Malik, Workshop Director Shri Suresh Bhardwaj, Senior officials of JKAACL , Senior theatre practitioners of Kashmir Mr. Mohamamd Amin Bhat , Mr.Ayash Arif, Mr. Nisar Naseem, Mr. Mushtaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Mr. Hakeem Javed,Mr.Majeed Wani, Mr. Gul Javed, Mr. Reshi Rasheed,Mr. Altaf Hussain and others who witnessed the presentation of students participated in the Workshop. Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Shri. Pradeep Kumar Mohanty expressed admiration to the participants for showing enthusiasm and taking advantage of such opportunities and he further added that NSD will be also be supportive in organizing such workshops in future as well to give boost to the theatre aspirants for promoting theatre in Kashmir and also help the theatre practitioners to explore their latent potential to transform theatre activities in Kashmir. It is in place to mention that NSD.TIE.Centre, Srinagar is conducting a 30 days’ workshop back to back from 11th Oct.2023 aiming at imparting life and personality development skills to children.
