GDC Magam organised Debate and Speech Competition in connection with Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

Today, Government Degree college Magam, a thought-provoking debate and speech competition was organized in connection with Gandhi Jayanti, highlighting the timeless principles of truth and non-violence. This event served as a tribute to the iconic Mahatma Gandhi and his unwavering commitment to these values.

In addition to the jury members Dr. Syed Najma Jameel and Dr. Mohmmad Idrees from the Department of Phsycology and Department of commerce respectively, the event was also graced by the presence of Head Department of Poltical Science, Environmental Sciences, Urdu and ducation. Prof. Bilquees Akhtar, Dr. Sameer Farooq, Prof. Niyaz Ali and Dr. Sabeena Rasool respectivelly.

Many Students of the College participated enthusiastically, showcasing their eloquence and depth of understanding on the chosen theme. The competition aimed to instill the essence of Gandhian philosophy in the younger generation, fostering a culture of peace, harmony, and social justice.

The competition witnessed passionate speeches and engaging debates, where students articulated their thoughts on the relevance of truth and non-violence in today’s world. They delved into various aspects, including the role of these principles in resolving conflicts, promoting social justice, and achieving personal growth.

After rigorous evaluation by a panel of esteemed judges, Insha Gul and Mehraja Maqbool got first and second position respectivelly. their eloquent and impassioned speech resonated deeply with the audience and judges. Insha Gul’s presentation beautifully encapsulated the enduring significance of truth and non-violence in our lives.

The jury members In their address, emphasized the importance of upholding truth and non-violence as guiding principles in building a just and peaceful society.

This Gandhi Jayanti celebration through a debate and speech competition was a remarkable platform for the youth to reflect upon and internalize the values of truth and non-violence. It is a testament to the enduring relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings and his vision of a harmonious and just society.
