DIC team encourages  Panchayat Lower Balli women for  skilling, startups

UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 01: To encourage women towards self-employment and skilling, a team of District Industries Centre Udhampur today visited Panchayat Lower Balli in Block Narsoo to engage with local women and encourage them for skill upgrading and start ups.

Functional Manager, Deepika Sharma and her team from the District Industries Centre (DIC) conducted the insightful visit, fostering a meaningful connection with the women residing there.

During the visit, the Functional Manager announced the exciting initiative of the establishment of a Knitting Training Center with a comprehensive 6-month course program tailored specifically for the women of the Panchayat.

The objective of this initiative is to equip the local women with valuable knitting skills, ultimately boosting their self-reliance and empowerment.

Furthermore, the Functional Manager took the opportunity to enlighten the women about the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), encouraging them to explore and embrace opportunities for self-independence. This visit not only strengthened the bond between DIC Udhampur and the community but also paved the way for women’s empowerment and skill development in Panchayat Lower Balli.
