Chairman, Vice Chairman DDC inaugurate digital campaign

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 01: The Mega Digital Week campaigns were held today at different venues across Kupwara district featuring informative stalls, Digi Vans, Mega Rallies and live demonstrations of e-governance platforms aimed at enhancing digital literacy among the people.

On the occasion, stalls set up by various departments to showcase their achievements in the digital world were visited by the people to get familiar with various online services offered by the government.

Digi Vans started by ARTO Kupwara in collaboration with District Information Centre Kupwara, playing awareness Jingles on the occasion passed through different markets of Kupwara which proved very helpful in spreading awareness on digital services.

At Handwara, the Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori today inaugurated Digital Week Campaign at Environmental Hall Handwara amid a vast gathering of public, students and PRIs. He also inspected the stalls, set up by various departments.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman said that the Digital Week campaign is aimed at showcasing citizen centric online initiatives and services of the government. He said now the people of the district can access various services at the click of the button.

On the occasion, ADC Handwara Nazir Ahmad Mir said that online platforms have brought about accountability and transparency in public service delivery.

At Sogam, within the premises of GDC Sogam, Vice Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir inaugurated the Digital Week Campaign.

SDM Lolab Ijaz Ahmad Bhat, Principal GDC Sogam, BMO Sogam, BDO Sogam and other Sectoral officers were present in the impressive event.

The Vice Chairman inspected the stalls set by different departments and said that Digital Week celebration is the government’s commitment towards advancement in technological progress and transparency.

At Kupwara, the Additional District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan inspected the stalls set up by various departments at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Kupwara.

A Marathon rally of students of different Schools of Kupwara was organised which was flagged-off by Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Abdul Hamid Fani.

Rally started from the DC office Complex Kupwara, which marched through Kupwara Bypass and different markets of Kupwara town finally culminating at Fountain Chowk Kupwara.

At Tangdhar, In the premises of Govt. Degree College Tangdhar, Chairperson BDC, Khawaja Reyaz inaugurated a spectacular Digital Week Campaign in which hundreds of local residents, PRIs, Students participated.

SDM Karnah Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather, Principal GDC Tangdhar, Haroon Ahmad Bokad, staff of College were present in the event.

At Kralpora, In the premises of Govt. Degree College Kralpora, Adv. Masrat Farooq DDC Member Kralpora inaugurated the Digital Week Campaign. A large gathering of people, PRIs and Students participated in the event.

At Langate, Digital Week Campaign was inaugurated by Chairman Municipality Langate, Adv. Shahnawaz. A large gathering of people, Students visited different stalls set up at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Langate to get familiar with online services available.

Meanwhile various events were held as part of Digital Week celebrations in all the Panchayats of district Kupwara. The week-long celebrations of digital advancement in the entire country will foster digital literacy and will encourage the citizens towards utilization of e- services offered by the government.
