Dead body of man who jumped into Dal Lake yesternight retrieved

River Police retrieved the body of a man who allegedly jumped into the Dal Lake on Thursday late at night.

An official from the River Police told that a man jumped into the Dal Lake yesterday late evening and shortly after that an operation was launched, however, there was no breakthrough.

He said on Friday morning, the operation was launched again and the body was retrieved.

The official identified the deceased as Imtiyaz Ali Sofi (40) son of Ali Muhammad Sofi, a resident of Chanpora Nowshera area of Soura.

“After all the required formalities, the body has been handed over to the family,” the official said adding that case has been registered in this regard. [KNT]
