Reason for Conduct
1. For the first time the Indian Army conducted the jashn-e-Gurez festival at Badwan Camp Site with Specialized Army Adventure Wing Teams (AAW) of Hot Air Balloon, River Rafting and Paramotor teams. The Daredevil demonstrations by Army Adventure teams coupled with mesmerizing picturesque of Badwan took away the breadth of tourists and Awam of Gurez. The festival also included various fun activities for locals like volleyball tournaments, Tug of War and engaging pony races. The civ adm also took part in the festival with equal enthusiasm and zeal as they also set up ten different tents for the locals.

2.The festival undoubtedly serves the aim of enhancing the coord between Army and locals, and boosting tourism in the valley and thereby enhancing employment opportunities in the Gurez valley.

3. A total of 1500 people including tourists from all across India attended the celebrations.
Outcome in Overall Social Impact
The local and Civ adm highly appreciated the endeavour and subsequently thanked the Army for continuation of this mega event for the betterment of Gurez.
