Filing of claims, objections starts from August 1 till August 11; Special Camps being held on August 6, August 10

District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav today chaired a meeting here in the VC Hall DC Office to discuss the action plan for smooth conduct of the Summary Revision of Municipal Electoral Rolls-2023.

The meeting was attended by ADC, (ERO Municipal Council Kishtwar) Inderjeet Singh Parihar; Deputy District Election Officer, Naresh Kumar; AERO(CEO Municipal Council) Ninad Sen; Consultant SVEEP Riyaz Butt and other concerned officers from Urban Local Bodies and the Election Cell Kishtwar, including the Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

The primary focus of the meeting was to finalize arrangements and modalities for the summary revision of the Municipal Electoral Roll, scheduled to take place from August 1 to August 11, 2023, encompassing all 13 Municipal Wards of the district.

The DEO urged the officials to form teams for completing the summary revision, which includes the addition of new voters, addressing omissions, and eliminating duplicate entries, all before the assigned deadline.

He emphasized the need for efficiency and timeliness, urging the officers to mobilize resources and personnel effectively to ensure the final publication of the Electoral Roll by August 25, 2023.

As part of the revision process, the Dy DEO was asked to submit daily progress reports. The DEO also urged all the officers and officials involved in the Summary Revision to approach the task with dedication and enthusiasm, aiming for 100 percent enrollment of eligible voters.

In addition, ERO Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh Parihar notified the general public, youth, and political parties about the schedule for submitting claims and objections regarding the Electoral Rolls with reference to the qualifying date of July 1, 2023.

The period for filing claims and objections will be from August 1, 2023 (Tuesday), to August 11, 2023 (Friday), while Special Camps would be held at the Polling Stations on August 6, 2023 (Sunday) and August 10, 2023 (Thursday).

The deadline for disposal of claims and objections is August 16, 2023 (Wednesday). Following the necessary updates, the Electoral Rolls will be updated by August 21, 2023 (Monday), with the Final publication of Electoral Rolls on August 25, 2023 (Friday).

The DEO has urged the applicants intending to file claims or objections to do so before the ERO/AERO either manually or online through the website http://ceojk.nic.in/efilling.

Furthermore, the DEO stressed upon the significance of raising awareness among new voters to ensure no eligible individual is inadvertently left out of the process.
