Chairperson District Development Council Udhampur, Lal Chand today launched the Blacktopping work of NABARD-funded Battal Ballian to Panchayat Ghar Bredian Road .
The Chairperson DDC Udhampur was accompanied by District Development Councilor Udhampur-I, Puran Chand; Sarpanch Pyt. Halqa Bredian, Parshotam Sharma; Assistant Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) Udhampur, Rafique Ahmad Chandail and local PRI members along with the public of the area.
The said road is 2.0 KM in length and blacktopping work would be completed at an allotted cost of Rs. 1.92 Lac by the Public Works Department, Udhampur.
The road links 12 to 15 nearby Panchayats and it will be advantageous for all members of the local community who travel daily between their homes and places of employment.
The Children who commute to school will also benefit from it. After being completed, the route will help reduce logistical costs, improve transportation, and spur development.
DDC Udhampur-I, Puran Chand congratulated the public of Battal Ballian and thanked chairperson District Development Council Udhampur Lal Chand for pacing up the developmental activities in District Udhampur.
In his address, the Chairperson DDC Udhampur thanked the locals of the adjacent Panchayats for the development work being done in the area and promised that the work that had already begun would be finished on schedule. He further urged upon the PRI Members and Members of District Development Council to work in collaboration to fast pace the developmental activities for betterment of the general public.
Later, the Chairman DDC, Udhampur complimented the Public Works Department and instructed staff to maintain the quality of the road construction and finish it within the deadline.
Chairperson DDC Udhampur urged the officers to work with zeal and sincerity to benefit the large population of rural areas. He further conveyed to the public/PRIs etc present on the spot that the District Development Council Udhampur is working with full transparency and is fully committed to work for the public of District Udhampur.
Meanwhile, Chairman District Development Council, Udhampur, also inaugurated Langer organized by “SHREE NEEL KANTH MAHADEV SEVA MANDAL” for Amarnath pilgrims at Battal Ballian chowk on NH-44. DDC Udhampur-I Puran Chand, Naib-Tehsildar, Salim Malik, officials of PWD, JKP, CRPF and other PRI members along with the general public of the area were also present. Additionally, he offered his best wishes for a safe and joyful journey to the pilgrims.
