DC Reasi reviews arrangements for International Yoga Day activities

Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for “International Day of Yoga” being observed on June 21.

It was decided that the main event will be organised at Sports Stadium Reasi where a mega yoga session will be held to commemorate the day.

During the meeting, the DC called for inter-departmental coordination, besides ensuring mass participation of people from all walks of life for the success of the event.

DC said that the purpose behind the celebration of international yoga day is to raise awareness among the public about the benefits of practicing yoga in life

The DC directed the department of AYUSH to depute Yoga instructors, while the Health department was asked to ensure participation of trainees and staff along with deployment of Ambulance.

The stakeholder departments were asked to make all the necessary arrangements well in time. The Police department was asked to ensure security arrangements at the venue.

Education Department asked to ensure the participation of students involving NSS/NCC volunteers and ITI. Other departments viz PHE, ICDS were directed to look after the water arrangements and public mobilization respectively. Besides, the cleanliness of the event to be ensured by the Municipality department.

Members of social organizations assured full cooperation to the administration by helping in wide publicity and providing other logistic support for the success of the event.

ADDC Jyoti Salathia, ADC Abdual Star, Dysp HQ, officers of health department, representatives of Government school and colleges besides other district officers and prominent citizens were also present in the meeting.
