DDC Doda reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, who is also Chairman of District Jal Jeevan Mission (DJJM), conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing projects of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADDC), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Superintendent Engineer of Hydraulic Circle Doda and Executive Engineers from the Jal Shakti, Mechanical, Ground Water, and Electrical Divisions. Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers joined the meeting virtually and were present at their respective construction sites.

 

During the meeting, it was reported that out of 185 tendered projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 17 projects have been allotted, a Letter of Intent (LOI) has been issued for one project and ten projects are in the process of being allotted. Work on the ground was underway on 169 projects.

 

The DDC was also briefed about the progress of Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs). As per the Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) Portal, out of the total 111,298 rural households, 61,571 have been provided with FHTCs, which accounts for approximately 55.32% of the target.

 

In the review meeting, the DDC issued instructions to all the Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Junior Engineers of the Jal Shakti Department, emphasizing the completion of civil works for all allotted schemes before July 31, 2023.

 

The DDC highlighted the importance of adhering to the fixed timelines for all projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, ensuring the timely completion of these prestigious initiatives. The objective is to provide citizens with access to safe drinking water in their homes, in line with the vision of the scheme.
