SHOPIAN, MAY 27: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb and Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Gh. Nabi Itoo today jointly convened a meeting of coordinating departments of the JJM and reviewed the activities, works being done in the district.  Ex. Engineer Jal Shakti, through a powerpoint presentation apprised about the status of ongoing works including Pipe Networks, rapid sand filtration plants, overhead tanks and bore- wells.  He informed that the total schemes approved for the district are 62 involving 109 works, out of which all works have been tendered. Total of 59 works are under execution in the district, out of which 01 scheme stands completed.  It was also informed that out of total 43971 FHTCs in the district, 31590 FHTCs have been connected ending April 2023, achieving 72% target.  During the meeting, various issues including Har Ghar Jal certification (HGJC), NABARD Funded schemes, Water Quality Monitoring & Surveillance (WQMS), Training of women for use of FTKs, status of Swachh Jal se Surakha, IEC activities, physical and financial status of JJM was also reviewed and directions were issued for the proper and timely implementation of JJM.  During the deliberations, bottlenecks were also identified and solutions discussed and instructions passed to remove the same through a synergetic approach of all.  MD, JJM appreciated the efforts of district administration towards the successful implementation of JJM. He apprised that the District is one of the three districts in Kashmir to be saturated by July, 2023 and laid emphasis on initiation of Har Ghar Jal Certification.  On the occasion, officers from ground water division apprised that work on 4 borewells shall be taken up within a week and shall be completed as per timelines.  Speaking on the occasion, DC emphasized upon the early start of works of Rapid sand filtration plants, borewells and said the district administration is taking all efforts in making the mission of Har Ghar Jal, a reality.  He also appreciated stakeholders for their ongoing endeavours in furtherance of JJM and sought more vibrant IEC activities.  The concerned were instructed to immediately start work on the rest of the schemes, subsequent to the removal of bottlenecks, conducting impactful IEC activities, awareness on Testing Labs, throughout the district especially during the Block diwas.  Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti, Sanjeev Malhotra, on the occasion intimated about the status of various components of the mission.  ADC, Shopian, Yar Ali Khan, SE, Shopian/ Pulwama, JDP, ACR, DFO, DIO ( Coordinator, IEC activities), Exen Jal Shakti, Project Manager, DPMU,  AEEs, JEs, ISAs,  and other concerned attended the meeting.
