Instructs for immediate assessment of losses

SHOPIAN, MAY 09: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today toured various hailstorm-affected areas of the district along with the team of Horticulture and Revenue officers to assess the post-hailstorm situation.  The DC on the occasion toured several villages including, Pratabpora, Ray, Kaprin, Ramnagri, Kanjiullar and Rakhama besides other villages and took stock of the on field scenario of field crops. He visited several orchards to have first hand, on spot evaluation of damage caused by the hail storm to the orchards.  During the visit, the DC interacted with the affected farmers and assured of every possible assistance by the government. He said that an advisory has already been issued to the farmers to handle the post hailstorm situation.  He asked the farmers to follow and implement the instructions given to them by the departmental experts and concerned field officers, so that the impact of the losses could be minimized.  He instructed the Chief Horticulture officer and Tehsildar to complete the impact assessment assignment and prepare the list of affected farmers so that it could be submitted to the government for further necessary action within 3 to 4 days.
