13-Year-Old Drowns While Bathing in River Jhelum at Jahama Baramulla; Rescue Operation Launched

Baramulla, July 1 (JKNS): A 13-year-old boy drowned in River Jhelum while bathing near Jahama area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Reports reaching news agency JKNS stated that the victim has been identified as Arsalan Moshook resident of Jahama Baramulla. He was reportedly bathing in the river when the tragic incident occurred.

The boy went missing in the water, prompting an immediate response from the police and rescue teams. A search operation was launched at the site, and efforts were underway till last reports came in to retrieve the body, reports said.

The incident has caused grief in the area, and locals have appealed for heightened safety measures along the riverbanks to prevent such tragedies.

As reported earlier on 26 June a 16-year-old teenage boy drowned while taking a bath in the Jhelum River near Jamia Masjid Sopore in Baramulla, and his vody was retrived from Jhelum after three-days. (JKNS)
