Karnah // During the last one week, the Karnah-Kupwara highway has been closed for vehicular traffic for the last 2 days after being restored for only 2 days, because the administration has to keep the highway closed temporarily due to bad weather conditions.  because 2 feet of fresh snow has accumulated on the highway and thus 5 feet of new and old snow has accumulated on the highway, till the last reports, snowfall was continuing in Sadhana Top and its surrounding areas. The highway remained closed.  As a result, once again people are facing difficulties while 2 patients from Sub District Hospital Tangdar have been advised to go to Srinagar but due to the closure of sadhana these patients cannot be brought to Srinagar. Block Medical Officer Tangdar Dr. Bashir said that the administration has been informed about shifting the patients to Srinagar. While the body of Qari Muhammad Rafi, a citizen of Karnah is also lying there for the last 2 days in the PCR of Srinagar.  Another family is also facing severe difficulties in bringing dead body here from Delhi. It is also suspected that a citizen of Kandi was killed in a train accident there. The local people have demanded the authorities to arrange a chopper service to transport the patients and corpses to Karnah. Meanwhile, one of the administration  The senior officer said that due to continuous bad weather there are difficulties in maintaining the chopper service as the helicopter cannot fly in bad weather.  The restoration is also not possible in bad weather conditions. He said that as soon as the weather changes, along with the restoration of the highway, the authorities will be recommended to restore the air service in full. Meanwhile, the SDM office advisory has been issued advising people not to travel to the highlands during inclement weather and if they face any difficulties at any place, they should immediately Connect to the control room.
