ANANTNAG, JANUARY 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today chaired a meeting of officers and various security agencies to finalize the preparations for Republic Day-2023 celebrations at DC Office Complex, here.
During the meeting threadbare discussions were held with regard to preparation and consolidation of the main venue ground, preparations for cultural programmes, PA System, seating arrangements, cultural programmes, prize distribution, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water/ tanker service, illumination by KPDCL, barricading of venue by Jal Shakti Bijbehara, medical aid camp, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders and sanitation measures.
The DC informed that the main function of the Day shall be held at Government Degree College (Boys), Khanabal. Whereas, similar functions will be held at sub-divisions of Bijbehara, Doru, Kokernag, Pahalgam and at all Tehsil headquarters.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure participation of DDC’s, BDC’s, Panches, Sarpanches and ULB members.
The meeting was informed that contingents of JKP, IRP, CRPF, Auxiliary Police, Fire & Emergency Services, NCC, students of government and private schools will participate in the march past parade.
The DC stressed for coordination among various stakeholders for the successful conduct of the event. He directed all the district heads to ensure the participation of the staff on full dress rehearsal function and on the Republic Day function.
Further directions were issued to ensure that Republic Day is celebrated at Blocks, Panchayats and Educational Institutions also.
Among others the meeting was attended by SSP Anantnag, ADC, JD Planing, Ex. Engineers of R&B, KPDCL, Jal Shakti, Officers from various security agencies including Police, CRPF, and other concerned officers.
