Prog aims to streamline public grievances redressal mechanism by listening to people at their door-steps: Ch Mudassir Hussain
BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 28: On the first day of the ambitious Back to Village Phase 4 campaign, Secretary Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Ch. Mudasir Hussain accompanied by Block Development Council Chairman Boniyar Mir Iqbal today paid a visit to Kawhar Village of Baramulla district where he carried out several developmental activities meant for larger public welfare.
The Secretary, who has been designated as the visiting officer for the said Panchayat Halqa, interacted with the prominent stakeholders of the village who apprised him of their demands and developmental aspirations of varied nature. He also presided over the Gram Sabha in which concerned stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members among others, marked their enthusiastic participation.
Mudasir gave a patient hearing of all the public demands and assured them all their concerns have been recorded and shall be taken with the appropriate authorities for their timely redressal.
He also underlined the objective of the B2V4 campaign and said that the program aims to listen to the public grievances at their door-steps. The Secretary added that the administration is keen to resolve public issues by developing a robust and effective public grievance redressal mechanism.
Urging the people to come forward and participate in such activities, Mudassir said some novel measures are being taken so as to realize the ambition of inclusive governance. He further added that various developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved in the ongoing programme.
Meanwhile, the people expressed gratitude to the administration for conducting the reach out programme in their area and listening to their issues and demands at their doorsteps.
