EC Mohsin flags off 40 farmers to Leh

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Executive Councilor for Agriculture, LAHDC, Kargil, Mohsin Ali, today flagged off 40 farmers who constructed Ladakh Green Houses from different zones to Leh district for five-day tour at Dihar (DRDO) Leh.

Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil, Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan, Headquarter Assistant, Muhammad Hussain Khan, SDAO Kargil, AEO Kargil-A, AEO-Sankoo and AEO Taisuru were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, EC Mohisn stressed on farmers to learn new techniques and scientific practices from the scientists and experts at Dihar, Leh. He further stressed for field visit for cultivation and production of fresh green vegetables during winter months.

The CAO also addressed the farmers and asked them to cultivate green vegetables during peak winter months in Ladakh region.

He advised farmers to construct Green Houses for supplying the fresh green vegetables in local markets, particularly during peak winter months and grab market opportunities.

The CAO said Green Houses benefit farmers by providing natural supplement and mitigate the nutritional imbalance of the consumers during winter through fresh vegetables.

He briefed farmers about their tour program and training schedules at Leh and farmers’ LGH visit.
