First UT Ladakh Qazaq Kures State Championship organized by Qazaq Kures Association Ladakh from August 22 to 24 concluded today at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.

Chairman/CEC LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan was the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve was the guest of honor.

President Qazaq Kures Association Harish Kumar Tyagi, General Secretary Raj Pal Singh Tyagi, Technical Director Praveen Kumar Tyagi, President Qazaq Kures Association Ladakh Mehraj Shah besides other concerned officers, players and students were present during the concluding ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEC thanked all the organizers for conducting the championship in the district. He also thanked all the referees, trainers for providing training to the players and educating them about the game.

CEC Khan hailed the huge participation of girl players in the sports. He said in today’s world girls are leading in all spheres of life which is quite satisfying.

Khan said LAHDC Kargil and District Administration are committed to provide sports facilities to the emerging sports enthusiasts and players.

He said many initiatives have been taken by the administration like development of indoor stadium Kargil in to world class indoor stadium where all modern equipment and facilities will be provided.

Along with the development of modern sports infrastructure, the CEC said LAHDC Kargil is focused on the development of traditional sports in the district including Ice Jockey, Polo and Archery.

Khan said there is no dearth of talented players in Kargil and many players from the district have participated at National and International platforms.

While expressing optimism he said from this game will also see player’s representing India at various International platforms.

On the occasion, DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve also congratulated all the organizers, coaches, referees and payers for successfully organizing the championship.

Stressing over sportsmanship DC Kargil said sports plays an important role in physical and mental development of students/children. The Deputy Commissioner advised students to pick up a sport according to their interest and put all efforts to be the master of the game.

DC Kargil also said that the potential of Ladakhi players is huge and there is a lot of scope to make career in sports field. He further said that the district administration is providing all support in order to develop sports-related infrastructure.

Later, mementoes and medals were distributed among the participants and winners. During the three-day championship, around 150 students were trained and also provided the training of referees.

During his concluding remarks, President Qazaq Kures Association Ladakh Mehraj Shah thanked all the stakeholders, departments, coaches and referees for successfully conducting the championship. He expressed gratitude to trainees and coaches for providing training to players.

President Mehraj Shah also thanked LAHDC Kargil and District Administration for providing their support in making the event successful.
