The Taliban government in Afghanistan has detained independent American filmmaker Ivor Shearer as well as Afghan producer Faizullah Faizbakhsh on the suspicion of keeping an eye on them. Shearer and Faizbakhsh were recording in District 10’s Sherpur neighbourhood in Kabul, where a US drone attack earlier that month claimed the life of Al-Qaeda commander Ayman al-Zawahiri.
