Whenever need arose Indian Army has ensured national security and national unity, defended the nation from external and internal threats and has been maintaining peace and security in an exemplary manner. Not only this but it conducted humanitarian rescue operations during natural calamities and other disturbances occurred from time to time in different parts of the country. These forces fought valiantly to protect the nation from the enemies and made supreme sacrifices in different battles for honour of the country and laid down their lives. To remember the supreme sacrifices of the forces nation often pay homage to our fallen heroes in different ways. Every year July 26 is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas to mark India’s victory over Pakistani forces on the Kargil heights.
On this day, the fallen heroes of the Indian Army are remembered who lost their lives in 1999 Kargil war during Operation Vijay and ensured victory of the country over the enemy. Kargil war lasted over 60 days in which our armed forces ousted the aggressors and regained the high outposts in the region. To remember the sacrifices of our armed forces this day is celebrated to pay homage to the fallen heroes every year.
A number of events took place at several places of the country to mark the anniversary of ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’. In different parts Kashmir valley several events took place in which citizens took part enthusiastically.
The Kargil Victory Flame (Torch) traversed through the Kashmir Valley to complete a journey of 400 Km in approximately 40 days. The flame arrived in Kargil War Memorial on July 26, 2022.
The anniversary of the victory was celebrated with the theme ‘Remember, Rejoice and Renew’. Several kind of other activities took place. These events to remember the supreme sacrifices made by the Indian army to defend the nation are very important for nation building, to promote patriotism’and’nationalism.
Their courage, bravery and supreme sacrifice will be remembered always and will never be forgotten. The service army do during any eventuality is praiseworthy. Take the example of latest one when cave area of Amarnath in the Kashmir valley witnessed a sudden cloudburst resulting in heavy loss of lives .
The Indian Army did a daring rescue operation and have saved many lives by conducted rescue operation. The pilgrims including the people hailed the rescue work by Indian Army to save the lives. Vedio clips on social media reflect pilgrims narrating the incident & stating how
they were brought to safety by army. Undoubtedly this is a praiseworthy service.
