Police destroys Poppy Cultivation in Awantipora

May 22: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police, CRPF alongwith civil authorities destroyed poppy cultivation at village Larmoh area of Awantipora.

A joint team of Police, CRPF headed by SDPO Awantipora Shri Mumtaz Ali Bhatti-JKPS along with officials of Revenue department destroyed illegal poppy cultivation spread over more than 03 Kanals of land at village Larmoh area of Awantipora.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 99/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt strictly under law.
