DODA//UMEED, JKRLM is providing phase wise skill up gradation Training to its SHG Members with the support of Skill Development Department in collaboration with the Industrial Training Institutes of the District. The aim is to upgrade the existing skill set of the SHG members and augment their livelihood initiatives. To provide exposure visits and encourage members to scale up existing livelihood activities remain other objectives of the initiative.

In this connection, a formal inauguration event was organized at ITI Doda in the presence of DDC Vice Chairperson- Doda, Sangeeta Rani Bhagat. Besides DDC Vice Chairperson, Principal ITI, District Programme Manager Doda (UMEED)- Mr. Salman Bhat, BPM Marmat- Mr. Irfan Ahmad and BPM Bhalessa/Doda- Mr. Ab Raouf Beigh attended the event. 60 volunteer SHG members are identified in the first phase, to undergo training in courses of Sewing Technology (40 Members) and Dress Making (20 members). The training is structured over 12 hours duration (professional skills) and an exposure visit.

Training started from today at ITI Doda, ITI Bhalessa and ITI Bhaderwah for three batches of 60 candidates (20 each per batch).
