DHSK chairs review meeting of National TB Elimination Program (NTEP)

Srinagar, May 09: Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather today chaired a review meeting for Quater 1st – 2022 of National TB Elimination Program (NTEP) at the office of Regional Director Health & Family Welfare, Barzulla Srinagar.

The meeting was attended by State TB Officer Dr Rubeena Shaheen, Dr Shazia Wafai Regional Director H&FW, District Tuberculosis Officers of Kashmir division, Medical Officer STDC Srinagar, Senior Medical Officer DRTB Centre Srinagar, WHO Consultants, State Lead JEET representative and other concerned officials from State TB Cell, Kashmir.

In the opening remarks the director stated that Central TB Division, Government of India has laid great emphasis on NTEP.

Accordingly, he urged all Officers and officials under NTEP program to work diligently to achieve all the targets and goals as per National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2017 – 2025 for elimination of TB from Kashmir Division before the given timeline.

At the meeting, brief Presentations were given by DTOs of respective districts of Kashmir division about all indicators under TB Score of NTEP.

The chair instructed all concerned DTOs to highlight their issues regarding NTEP activities in their concerned Districts. Dr M A Rather also instructed to promote activities through mass awareness generation programmes. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks from STO Kashmir Dr Rubeena Shaheen.
