April 24: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Sopore have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered Psychotropic substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Achabal crossing intercepted one person in a suspicious condition who tried to flee away from the spot but the alert police party apprehended him tactfully. During search, 1104 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon Plus were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ishfaq Mushtaq Mir@Pin Mir son of Mushtaq Ahmad Mir resident of Achabal Sopore. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 72/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Sopore and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are once again requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
