Deputy Commissioner reviews arrangements in Banihal sub division

RAMBAN, APRIL 22:  Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today conducted an extensive tour of sub-division Banihal to review arrangements for Shri Amarnath Yatra-2022, besides inspecting the progress on National Highway four laning project between Ramban and Banihal stretch.

The DC was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma, SDM, Banihal, Zaheer Abbas Bhat, SDM, Ramsu, Viqar Giri, Tehsildar Imtyaz Ahmed,   SDPO and many other senior officers.

The DC inspected the locations proposed for establishment of Langers and Yatri Camps during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022. He passed on the spot directions to SDM Banihal and other officers to implement all directions pertaining to their respective department given in this regard.

  During the meeting with officers, the DC discussed modalities for making arrangements at langar sites and shelter locations between Ramban & Banihal. Meanwhile, concerned officers   gave a firsthand appraisal about the arrangements being made for with special focus on power, water, and sanitation and road connectivity.

The Deputy Commissioner also discussed various public issues of Sub-division Banihal and Ramsu and directed the SDMs to adopt a proactive approach to resolve all genuine issues of the people.

Earlier, the DC also inspected progress on NH-44 road widening work and directed the NHAI and construction agencies to speed up the pace. He further stressed on proper maintenance of the existing highway – the only all weather road connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.
