DDC Rajouri reviews entrance, admissions to Eklavaya schools

RAJOURI, APRIL 16: District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review arrangements for conducting entrance examinations of students for admission in the Eklavya Model Residential Schools at Hubbi and Gurdhan Balla, at his office today.

The house was informed that there are 120 seats and 103 forms have been received as of now and the last date for receiving the applications is April 18, 2022. The entrance exams for the admissions are to be conducted on April 24.

The DDC said that Eklavya Model School is an ambitious initiative of Government of India to facilitate tribal students to get quality education and to enable them to compete with the students of the rest of the country. He also asked the concerned officers to make requisite arrangements well in time for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the exams.

Meanwhile, the DDC also reviewed the arrangements for the temporary start of classes for EMRs Gurdhan Balla wherein it was decided that a committee of three members including District Tribal Officer, SDM Thananamandi and Principal GGMHSS Rajouri would be constituted and these members would identify a suitable building where the classes for the students could be started. The committee is also directed to submit necessary report in this regard at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by the ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli; Principal GGMHSS Rajouri, Abdul Raof Dar; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; DYSSO, Sunil Samyal; AD Planning Bansi Lal and other concerned officers.
