RDD Doda kick-starts Iconic Week activities

DODA, APRIL 13: The Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Doda on Wednesday kick started the Iconic Week (11th April to 17th April, 2022) activities to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav  in the spirit of Jan-Bhagidari.

To celebrate this monumental occasion in the right spirit, Gram Sabhas were held in different blocks of the district wherein a series of thematic approaches were adopted aimed at localization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the grassroots level.

The Gram Sabhas stressed on the need to meet the   SDGs and the need to mobilise the local resources. The Gram Sabhas were held in different panchayats of blocks Bhagwah, Bhaderwah, Thathri, Kastigarh and other blocks.

A plantation drive was also carried out in block Kastigarh.

  Assistant Commissioner Development Doda, Phulail Singh Bandral  informed that these thematic based Gram Sabhas are being held to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and to create awareness for developing community awareness and involvement.
