Secretary ARI, Trainings visits Govt Ranbir Press Jammu

JAMMU, APRIL 07: Secretary, Administrative Reforms, Inspections and Trainings Department, Amit Sharma, today inspected the functioning of Government Ranbir Press Jammu.

Amit Sharma visited all sections of one of the oldest Government Press of Jammu and Kashmir and took stock of working there.

During the visit, he was accompanied by both the Additional Secretaries, Syed Muried Shah and Sunaina Mehta besides Director Finance, Suresh Koul.

General Manager of Press, Purshotam Sharma, explained in detail about the working of all sections besides highlighting several issues requiring attention for further streamlining of the institute.

Secretary took strong notice of several grey areas in the Press and asked for initiating swift action towards correcting the same for better functioning.

Amit Sharma asked the concerned for maintaining total cleanliness and hygiene in the Press premises. He issued strict directions for proper indexing of finished stock, stacking of raw material, labeling of all machines and sections of the Press. He also directed for disposing of unnecessary old stock of printed stationery at the earliest after consulting the concerned departments about its planned disposal.

Secretary emphasized the need to overhaul functioning of both the Government Presses.

He asked the GM to submit a SWOT analysis on working of Press along with a profitability oriented plan to ensure commercial operations of both Press units wherein it can help to enhance revenue generation and ensure optimal utilization of latest machinery installed recently in these complexes. He also directed the officers to get ISO certification done for both the Press complexes which shall definitely help in enhancing productivity and working of the units.

Later, Secretary along with his team held a brief interaction session with the employees and took stock of their issues and concerns with an assurance to resolve the same in a time bound manner.
