RAMBAN MARCH 20: District Mineral Officer(DMO), Ramban, Kulwant Singh today seized 4 vehicles used in illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals, during raids in different areas of Sub-Division Ramsoo and Banihal.
On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam, the DMO along with his team conducted raids and vehicles including 2 dumpers, 1 excavator and screener used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials were seized. ‘The Team also recommended to impose a heavy fine on the violators.
“We are trying to discourage the menace of illegal mining and as per the direction of the DC, a massive drive has been launched across the district “, he added.
The DMO advised consumers to purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal miners. He warned that FIR will be lodged against habitual violators if found involved in illegal transportation of minerals second time.
