RAMBAN, MARCH 19: Deputy Commissioner, Rmban Mussarat Islam today presided over an interactive session with Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs, applicants of Tejaswini scheme at the valedictory function of training programme organised by the District Centre of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, under Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP).

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the training was the part of the women empowerment programme of the Government by providing them financial assistance for setting up gainful self-employment ventures. The initiative will enhance the socio economic status and lead to integration of women in nation building, he added.

The DC said that the youth of district Ramban have huge potential to excel in any field. “I congratulate you all for choosing entrepreneurship as your career choice to realize your dreams.   Being the chairman of the District Level Implementation Committee, I will monitor the progress of disbursal of your respective cases by banks” he encouraged the trainees.

While distributing certificates among the trained women, the Deputy Commissioner assured them all possible support from District Administration in establishing their new business ventures and up-grading of the existing small business units.

Earlier, aspiring women entrepreneurs, who are motivated enough to start their entrepreneurial venture, also shared their experiences besides showing their interest in manufacturing, services and agriculture and allied activities.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma and Assistant Director, Employment, Naresh Kumar, who is also the Nodal Officer of Mission Youth, also congratulated the budding entrepreneurs.

 In his address, the District Nodal Officer JKEDI, Yash Paul informed that as many as 37 aspiring women have been trained for self-employment during the programme which was launched on March 8 on the occasion of International Women’s day.

The trained youth were drawn from Banihal, Gool,  Magarkote, Sangaldan and Rajgarh areas of the district Ramban.

The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of the trained candidates have been prepared by the Institute for their respective activities and the files complete in all respects were forwarded to the banks for disbursal.

The aspirants were trained for dairy farming, establishment of small business ventures like Boutiques, multi-utility stores, beauty salons, shuttering houses, retail and wholesale outlets, drug stores and electrical goods etc. in different areas of Ramban district.
